1. What is the Protestant Reformation? How did it develop and progress on both the European continent and in England? How did the Roman Catholic Church respond and change in the wake of the Reformation?
2. What is the Renaissance? What influenced the Renaissance, and how did it manifest in the spheres of art, literature, politics, and religion?
3. How did the English experience in the New World differ from that of the Spanish? How did each justify occupying the land, and “possess” that land? In regards to governance and control of their colonies, how were the English different from the Spanish? How were their experiences with the natives different or the same?
